Privacy Policy

One of Us is a private, membership-based community for businessmen in Australia. This policy explains what information the One of Us app and website (the “Service”) collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Membership is by invitation only and accounts are created by our administrators.

We only collect information needed to run the members’ community:

• Account & profile. Your name, email address, profile photo, business or industry details, location, social media links you choose to add, and your availability status.
• Community activity. Messages you send in community channels and direct messages, and the communities you belong to.
• Events. Your event registrations and any dietary requirements or allergies you provide when registering.
• Technical data. A device push-notification token (so we can send notifications) and basic logs needed to keep the Service secure and working.

• To provide the members’ directory, communities, messaging, and events.
• To send notifications about messages, events, and membership matters.
• To operate, secure, and improve the Service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Your profile details are visible to other approved members within the community, subject to the privacy settings you control in your profile. Beyond that, we share data only with the service providers that operate the app on our behalf:

• Cloud hosting and database providers that store the data securely.
• Apple Push Notification service and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, used solely to deliver notifications to your device.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety and rights of our members.

We keep your information for as long as your membership is active. When your membership ends, or on request, we delete or anonymise your personal information unless we are required to keep it to meet a legal obligation.

• You can review and update your profile information at any time in the app.
• You control which profile fields are visible to other members.
• You can request a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete your account, by contacting us at the address below.

Access to the Service requires authentication, and data is encrypted in transit. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

The Service is intended for adults and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify members in the app.
